Products manufactured by Matform could soon be seen on luxury teak furniture helping to create relaxing woodland oases. The company has secured contracts to supply a prominent name in the outdoor furniture and accessories market.

Matform’s workforce was initially engaged to make 5,000 stainless steel labels for Westminster Teak, whose headquarters are based in Uckfield, East Sussex.

This was rapidly followed up by a repeat order for 2,000 more.

Matform’s Sales Director, Paul Down said: “ We were delighted to be able to supply Westminster Teak with labels. “Our state-of-the-art technology and precision metal engraving ensure that the nameplates have the ability to withstand even harsh outdoor environments.”

Westminster is a member of the Tropical Forest Trust (TFT) and sources all teak from TFT supported forests. Its products are hand-finished by craftsmen whose skills and understanding of the wood are demonstrated in the furniture’s design and construction.

Matform reported a successful exhibition at the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show, Farnborough, Hampshire. Sales Director, Paul Down said that their debut at the two-day event produced a steady stream of enquiries and lead generations.

“It was very interesting and we met potential new clients from all walks of life, ranging from one-man inventors to nuclear power companies. We are very hopeful that something positive will come of it.” Despite the current economic climate the exhibition was well-attended and Matform reported heightened interest in their brochures and requests for samples.

Matform have won orders to supply 10,000 self-adhesive vinyl labels for a world leader in kayak design and manufacturing. Perception Kayaks of East Sussex, appointed the company to produce 5,000 warning stickers for drain plugs, and a further 5,000 stickers to be used on their angling kayaks.

The self-adhesive labels were produced on Matform’s new hot foil reel-to-reel machinery. Perception Kayaks is an Uckfield-based company which has been in the forefront for designing kayaks and accessories for more than 30 years.
