Workplace success for former apprentice
Matform’s first ever apprentice is going from strength to strength after completing her second year with the company. Katie Linskey joined Matform in July 2015 while doing her Business Administration Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship qualification through Chichester College.
As the qualification was work-based, the 20 year old from Pagham was assessed by providing a portfolio of evidence throughout the year-long apprenticeship.
The former apprentice is now Matform’s Office Administrator and her role, which entails processing orders and dealing with customers, gets a thumbs up from Katie.
“Working at Matform is great, I love it. I was initially unsure what I wanted to do however the opportunity to do the apprenticeship arose and I’ve really enjoyed it,” said Katie, who is about to complete her Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) Gold Award and is working towards the Queen’s Guide Award - the highest award in guiding.
“As well as learning new skills and putting them into practice in a real working environment, Matform’s also given me the freedom to focus on the DoE and the Queen’s Guide Award. Achieving these awards have been a dream of mine, so I’m fortunate that my work at Matform fits in so well with my lifestyle,” added Katie.
Eleanor Billingham, Matform’s Finance Director, believes that the office couldn’t run without Katie. “She’s settled in so well and fits in brilliantly with the team. Having an apprentice who’s become an employee has been a great success for Matform,” added Eleanor.
